Pretty cool huh?

I think this would look perfect at an outdoor, garden wedding. You could write your names, a touching quote, song lyric or cover your palette with hearts!

Painting moss on the wall at your venue might not be an option (you could always ask the co-ordinator or venue manager) but it would be just as easy to write on a piece of drywall or board and grow your graffiti at home.

I haven’t tried it just yet, but here’s how to create your moss graffiti:

You will need:

1 or 2 clumps of moss (about a small handful)

2 cups of buttermilk (or substitute with yogurt)

2 cups of water (or beer)

1/2 teaspoon of sugar

Steps:

1. Decide what you would like to write or draw in moss, and outline it on a wall in chalk. You could use a stencil or monogram, or draw freehand.

2. Collect a handful of moss. Once you start looking for it you’ll see it everywhere! Try under some big shady trees in a damp area.

3. Wash the moss to get as much soil out of the roots as possible.

4. Break the moss apart into manageable pieces and place in blender.

5. Add the buttermilk/yogurt, water/beer and sugar. Blend to the consistency of a thickshake. Add some water if the mixture is too thick.

6. Pour mixture into a container with a lid.

7. You can use a brush to paint your moss onto concrete walls, rocks, or brick. Mist the moss once a day to help it thrive, and soon your green graffiti will take hold!

Tips: Keep the additional moss mixture in the fridge – it’s worth reapplying the mixture every few days until you run out. You should start to see the moss establish itself on the wall/surface after a week, and you can expect it to take about a month until it’s fully established. It’s also best to choose a wall that isn’t exposed to long periods of direct sunlight.

DIY Seating Chart

Perfect for a rustic wedding, these old window panes transformed into seating plans will add a nice touch to your décor.

Sourcing old windows for this project is the tricky part. You could look in building yards, antique stores, garage sales or even your local tip. Just make sure the glass in still in tact, as you will need this to write the names of your guests.

As soon as you have organised your seating arrangement you can get started with writing your guests names under their allocated table number. Crayola washable window markers are perfect for this, and you can purchase them from ebay here.

Bird cages in any colour will compliment a garden themed wedding beautifully. They can be used as a pretty seating chart and can even double as a wishing well or card holder.

Just print up your table numbers with guest names on separate lists, decorate them as you wish, and tie them to the bird cage with ribbon that matches your colour theme and your done!

One of the easiest seating charts to create, simply attaching your guests names to a large mirror can make for a very elegant seating plan.

You will need to measure the size of the mirror so you can work out how big to make each list of guests and how far to space them apart on the mirror.

Type up your guest’s names under their corresponding table numbers in your desired font, then print them off so that each list is the same size. Adding a coloured bow to each list will create a more sophisticated look, especially if you are using black ribbon.

It’s best to stick your table numbers onto the mirror using something that is easy to remove, so you could use 3M adhesive squares or even sticky tape will do the job. Just make sure the corners are stuck down well so they don’t peel back. You don’t want your seating plan looking short of professional!

This rustic seating plan is sure to impress! It’s just perfect for an outdoor wedding, and to make your own you will need: 1 old gate or a few fence palings (the number of palings will depend on how big you would like your seating chart), some vintage door knobs and a few vintage looking photo frames.

Once you’ve typed up your lists of guests under their allocated table numbers, just print them off, place them in their picture frames, then attach the frames to your old gate or fence palings. You can attach them however you like, but the door handles are quite effective and once these are attached to the timber with screws, you can easily hang your frames with some thin rope or strong ribbon. And there you have one chic looking outdoor seating chart!

DIY Ice-Cream Parlour – ‘Make Your Own Sundaes’ Buffet!

Lolly buffets have without a doubt, remained a popular trend since hitting the wedding scene. They’re fun, gorgeous and taste great! Also known as a candy buffet or lolly bar, these dedicated dessert tables create a memorable spectacle that is fun for all ages.

Since a lolly bar maintains a combination of stylish flair and child-like wonder, they are perfectly suited to such an emotionally charged event.

An even more fun, more impressive and completely original idea from the very popular Melbourne Style Blogger, Amy Moss, is the DIY Ice-Cream Parlour ‘Make Your Own Sundaes’ Buffet Concept!

“Nothing satisfies my sweet palate more than vanilla ice-cream with hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, crushed nuts, caramelised banana, wafer biscuit and the all-important cherry on top!” So Amy came up with this design concept for an old-fashioned Ice-cream Parlour “Make your own Sundaes” buffet with all the accoutrements.

If you love this buffet as much as we do, pop over to Amy’s blog: Eat, Drink, Chic to see lots more pics, ideas and freebies (yes, Amy has designed all the labels for you to download for FREE here, so you can create your very own Ice-Cream Parlour Buffet!).

Enjoy… be prepared to get lost in a sea of inspiration, and thank you Amy for sharing!
